Adjusted Size Standards - Might Impact Your 8(a)'s Strategy

June 27, 2022 - Recently, the Federal Register published a final rule that includes the SBA's increase of size standards across a number of NAICS codes. Here's the high-level break down of the common professional services NAICS in the 8(a) space and the impact that takes effect as of May 2022:

  • 541513, Computer Facilities Management Services increased to $32.5M

  • 541611, Administrative Management and General Management Consulting Services increased to $21.5M

  • 541612, Human Resources Consulting Services increased to $25.5M

  • 541614, Process, Physical Distribution, and Logistics Consulting Services increased to $17.5M

  • 541810, Advertising Agencies increased to $22.5M

  • 541930, Translation and Interpretation Services increased to $20M

  • 541990, All Other Professional Scientific and Technical Services increased to $17M

  • 541910, Marketing Research and Public Opinion Polling increased to $20M

  • 561110, Office Administrative Services increased to $11M

  • 561499, All Other Business Support Services increased to $19M

  • 561612, Security Guards and Patrol Services increased to $25.5M

This is great news for a number of companies that have grown rapidly in the last several years, both from a prime perspective and also from a subcontracting perspective, as it may push some larger 8(a)s back into small status for certain NAICS.
